Nob Hill Street Art and Murals

A tour of Nob Hill street art and murals is well worth your time while cruising the Historic Route 66 in the central corridor of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque has a metro population of 923,630 as of July 1, 2022. This distinguishes Greater Albuquerque as the 61st-largest metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the nation. It is bordered on the east by the Sandia (watermelon) Mountains. The Sandias often exhibit their enchanted peaks robed in a heavenly cloud covering and seemingly blushing with a pale pinkish glow. Albuquerque is the embodiment of, and living testament to the state motto, “The Land of Enchantment.”

Albuquerque’s always majestic, Sandia Mountains!

The city of Albuquerque is an amalgamation of various small homegrown districts with their own look, feel, and charm. Located in the southeast central corridor of Albuquerque is a fitting example of its brilliance, the Nob Hill District which straddles Central Ave, historic Route 66. This cross-section of culture, cuisine, and creativity boast a lively university vibe, hippy/gypsy throwback style, and modern yuppie influence. From the vast array of scrumptious food offerings to the quaint shops, bars, and galleries, Nob Hill is a utopia of contrast and contradiction with a magnetism that draws people from all over the valley.

Historic Jones Motor Company – 3222 Central Ave. SE – soon to be M’tucci’s on Central

Shelli and I love to show friends around Nob Hill. Highlighting the plethora of shops, first-rate pubs, fine dining, quaint eateries, and beautiful architecture. However, when I am on my own, I prefer a quest to photograph spectacular, original, Nob Hill street art and murals.

The following murals and art pieces are a fraction of those found on buildings within one mile of our apartment.

Walking west of our location on the corner of Carlisle and Central Ave. the following art can be captured.

West Side Murals – Nob Hill

Nob Hill New Mexico Mural 3523 Central Ave NE

Just few of the wonderful street art creations adorning the nooks and crannies, alleys, and walkways of Nob Hill. All are within 1 block north or south of Central Ave. which is the historic Route 66.

Within a few blocks to the east of Carlisle and Central is more fodder for the talented artists spraying their way into the archives of awesome graffiti.

East Side Murals – Nob Hill

Guerrilla Graphix 3701 Central Ave NE – I love the telephone poles which incorporate the gutter downspouts.

I trust you have enjoyed our walk through the streets of Nob Hill and the beautiful murals found within this quaint neighborhood in the heart of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Until we meet – God Bless America!
