The Majestic red rocks of Sedona Arizona were on graphic display this past Saturday as Shelli and I traveled north. Sedona with all of its grandeur is located 1.5 hours north of Phoenix along I-17.
However, Shelli and I were able to make the trip in about 3.5 hours by choosing to detour through Wickenburg, Peeples Valley and Prescott. Then, over the mountain through Jerome, Clarkdale and on to Sedona after a short stop at the wineries in Page Springs.
This drive has some exciting roads with tight switchbacks and snaking roads over two mountain passes. I highly recommend it for an enjoyable adventure if you have a little extra time to smell the roses.
